Conductor Junior Band: Heather Penno

Heather Penno joined the Winnipeg New Horizons Band family in 2009 as the Beginner’s Band Director. This year she is thrilled to be directing the Junior Band.

 

From 1989-1996, Heather began her career by launching the grade 5-12 Band programs at McCreary, Glenella, Alonsa, Amaranth and Kelwood Schools in Turtle River School Division. She also began the Jazz programs and a Community Band.

 

From 1996-2019, Heather taught Band, Jazz band, and General Music at Morris School in Red River Valley School Division. Heather retired from teaching in the school system in June 2019.
