Claire Powell - Conductor Beginner Band

Claire Powell was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Music Education brought her to Manitoba, and she graduated from Brandon University in 2013 with her concurrent B.Mus/B.Ed.

 

Claire was the Concert Band and Jazz Band director in Minnedosa for 9 years before moving to Winnipeg in 2022 with her husband John Hodge and their dog Sheena. 

 

Since moving to the city Claire has taught at Sistema Winnipeg and Gordon Bell High School. She currently teaches Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Guitar at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute. Claire is thrilled to be the Beginner Director at New Horizons Band in Winnipeg and help new players start their instrumental journey!
